SUSTech subject ranked in World Top 150

On October 29th, Times Higher Education (THE) released the THE World University Rankings 2021 by subject. Four subjects of Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) appear on the list: Engineering & Technology, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, and Computer Science.
Engineering & Technology entered the world top 150 for the first time, ranking 101-125 in the world and 11th in mainland China. Physical Sciences are placed within the top 201-250 in the world and 11th in mainland China. Among the different metrics used to measure the subject ranking for Physical Sciences, Industrial Income obtained the highest score and attained first place in mainland China. At the same time, it ranked 2nd for International Outlook and 3rd for Citations. Life sciences ranked in the range of 176-200 in the world and 9th in mainland China, and among its metrics, it ranked 2nd for Industry Income and 3rd for Citations. Compared to last year, the ranking of Computer Science improved significantly and entered the world top 300 for the first time, ranking 251-300 in the world and 14th in mainland China, ranking 3rd in mainland China for International Outlook.
THE World University Rankings by subject covers 11 disciplines, using the same trusted and rigorous performance indicators as the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2021, including Teaching, Research, Citations, Industry Income, and International Outlook. The methodology has been recalibrated to suit the individual fields.
