个人简介:胡敏杰,浙江大学生命科学学院百人计划研究员,国家海外优青,浙江省杰出青年,博士生导师。目前致力于以软珊瑚Xenia为模型,通过基因组学,分子生物学,生物信息学的手段研究宿主与共生微生物的共生关系,特别是珊瑚虫和其共生的能进行光合作用的虫黄藻建立共生关系的不同步骤。在《Nature》《Nature Microbiology》《PLoS Genetics》和《Nucleic Acid Research》等知名期刊上发表了多篇优秀的论文,对该领域的发展做出了重要的贡献。


报告摘要:Coral bleaching—the stress-induced collapse of symbiosis between corals and their dinoflagellate algae—poses an escalating threat to reef ecosystems worldwide. Despite its ecological importance, the cellular mechanisms driving bleaching remain incompletely understood. Previously, we established Xenia sp. as a model system for studying coral endosymbiosis and developed an RNAi-based approach to investigate LePin function during the initiation of new symbiotic relationships. Here, using a menthol-induced bleaching model combined with single-cell RNA sequencing at early and late stages of bleaching, we characterize the transcriptional dynamics of coral cells under stress. We show that early in the bleaching response, coral cells downregulate adhesion-related complexes, priming themself for detachment. This precedes a coordinated upregulation of membrane-trafficking pathways and lysosomal digestion machinery at later stress stage. Together, our results provide a high-resolution landscape of cell-type-specific transcriptional changes during bleaching, establishing a foundation for deeper molecular insight into the mechanisms underlying coral bleaching.
