报告摘要：

Inositol-requiring enzyme 1 (IRE1) is an endoplasmic reticulum (ER) transmembrane protein kinase/endoribonuclease that senses unfolded/misfolded proteins in the ER, governing a canonical branch of the Unfolded Protein Response (UPR) to maintain ER homeostasis. Mammalian IRE1α can respond to metabolic cues and regulate many aspects of energy metabolism. Here I will go over the cell type-specific mechanisms by which IRE1α performs distinct functions in metabolic control and tissue homeostasis as well. I will also talk about our recent findings regarding how IRE1α behaves in sensing cellular energy state and exerts regulatory actions in restoring ER proteostasis under nutrient stress.

嘉宾简介：

刘勇，武汉大学生命科学学院教授、博士生导师。国家杰出青年基金获得者。国家科技部973和重点研发计划首席科学家。曾任中科院上海生科院营养科学研究所副所长、中科院营养与代谢重点实验室副主任、武汉大学生命科学学院副院长以及Journal of Biological Chemistry杂志编委，并获 CADA终身成就将，“明治乳业生命科学优秀奖”“药明康德生命化学研究奖”“上海市优秀学科带头人”“上海市领军人才”等多项荣誉。长年探索细胞应激与代谢紊乱及衰老相关疾病的分子机制，在Nature Immunology、Nature Cell Biology、Nature Metabolism、Cell Metabolism、JCI、PNAS等国际学术期刊上发表SCI论文百余篇。
